Description Brugmansia, also known as Angel Trumpets, are woody trees or shrubs, with pendulous, not erect, flowers, that have no spines on their fruit. Like many ornamental plants, all parts of Brugmansia can be toxic. Brugmansia are native to tropical regions of South America, along the Andes from Venezuela to northern Chile, and also in south-eastern Brazil. They are grown as ornamental container plants world-wide, and have become naturalized in isolated tropical areas around the globe, including within North America, Africa, Australia, and Asia. Brugmansia's toxicity plays an plays role in providing protection for moths and butterflies.
Richard Thomas, Santa Rosa Member Since June 2009 Artist Statement I was born Richard Thomas 70+ years ago in Southern California. Art has always been my passion, especially painting with acrylics, oils or water color. As well as drawing. Studied architectural drafting and design at San Bernardino Valley Junior College between 1968 and 1970.
By June of 2004, Richard Thomas retired from the retail meat cutting trade. After all my chores were done at home I started another career working in a local camera shop to supplement my retirement income. There I discovered another art form - painting with light. Digital photography makes it incredibly simple to capture the beauty of God's creation. The first thing God created was light. Without light there is no color. God is light and in Him there is no darkness.
